While plague is killing millions in Europe, some have managed to survive. They have mutated into a new specie, something half-way between the living and the dead. At first I thought they were zombies, because of the hand sticking out of the grave, but they actually need a stake through the heart to kill them.
Point and click games and especially those with zombies and vampires are never my first choice when selecting new titles for 'dark horror games'. But this one comes from 'Pastel Games' and it's rather old, with fantastic art work, so I decided to give it a try.
If you're not really into point and click games, you'll probably be more less confused about finding hidden objects and navigation between the screens. Objects are really well blended in the scene so you must move the mouse around and see if it changes its default shape into a pointing hand. That's how you find the clickable 'hot spots'. Navigation between the screens is tricky as they look somewhat unrelated to each other so it's hard to memorize how to get to a specific scene when you need it.
The game premise is simple: you must find the beast and kill it with the stake. But first you need to go around the scenery and pick up all you can get, things like hammer, all kinds of pottery, a wooden stake of course and many other what appears to be useless things, which come into a function later as the game progress. The idea is to break into the house and get to the basement. There you'll find all you need to cook a special potion which you must use on the stake before you stab it in the beast's heart.

I have mixed feelings about this game because it's so beautifully done in all it's simplicity and the music really brings out an intense eerie atmosphere. However, it's very difficult to find the objects that you need since they're so well blended with the environment. I am determined to finish it but it's a tad annoying in that sense.

Took me a while to figure out what exactly to do, but after a few plays I got it down. It wasn't exactly giving me goosebumps but the scenery and unique style was very interesting. Overall, it's a pretty swell game.

Good game but I found some of the items and locations difficult to find because they seemed to blend into the monochromatic layout.

The art style is interesting, but it's extremely difficult to tell where you'll be going when you manage to find a spot you can click on. I gave up after awhile of not making much progress apart from finding a few items I had no idea how to use.
