Death Embrace 3 is a new game from Nikolay Marchenko, the very same guy who also made Death Embrace 1 and Death Embrace 2, and many other escape games (which I don't host on darkhorrorgames.com) such as Risk Subway Escape etc... horror escape games is what he does, his specialty.

About the game

Calling this game new would not be quite correct, actually it is nowhere near being correct. The game went out at the end of year 2013, so practically one year after the release, I've stumbled upon it somewhere and realized that it might be a good idea to have it on dark horror games, although this is not really a scary game. Let me make myself clear. This game has no jumpscares whatsoever. Even the music is not creepy. Not to mention colorful font used for the game title at the beginning, or the sponsor's (chocolate) intro. That sure could have been done much better, darker, creepier. But on the other hand, there are many other really cool elements, such as blood stains on the doors and walls, meat hanging room, skeletons and is especially likable that bloody alien creature chained to a wall. That wasn't bad either.

How to play

Just like in any other point and click game, you 'walk' around by clicking on navigation bars. When you click on item, if it's click-able, you can pick it up and put it in the inventory, which in this case, is represented as a small backpack shown in the lower left corner. Here are few things you should do to get outside of the house: get the gear wheel, crow-bar, the key, switch the power on, use key to unlock and open up the basement door, place the gear into a missing spot on metal door to get inside the hidden room, get the chain saw, turn off the water, carabiner. To get inside the room with a skeleton, you will have to go back and turn the power on again, in order to power up the door's control panel. When I was playing this game I thought that the disks are crucial, because there's a disk counter in the upper right corner. Than I saw the walkthrough and it turned out that you may escape through the sewer without picking up a single disk. The disks are there just as a distraction obviously. Didn't figure that out quite.

It's unfair to expect jumpscares when playing escape games, and I must add that I prefer Killer Escape series over this, especially the Surgery part. Anyway, if you are a true fan or horror, blood and gore, I think you should spare few of minutes for Death Embrace 3 and give it a try.
