Catharsis is the game that features your darkest nightmares. It's cold, dark and you absolutely have no idea where you are at the moment. One thing is clear, though. To find peace you must get out of this dark place at once. The game might lack in jump-scares, but it's definitely one of the weirdest I've ever played. Everything in this game looks surreal, just like in a dream, but still you can't wake up. Lots of strange objects, but occasionally you will also stumble upon some creepy live creatures too.
Overall, the gameplay is scary but quite confusing. Whatever you do, just make sure not to loose conciousness.
First-person horror game
This is first-person perspective game, which means that you see everything from the main character's angle. If you start losing conciousness, your vision will blur, objects will lose shape and vignette around the screen will become red. When red starts turning to blue that is a clear signal that you are getting better. You get better when you find and observe for a while things from your past. Memories bring you back to life.
Controls
Left/right mouse buttons to use arms, 'c' to crouch, 'space-bar' to jump. You grab and pick up the object simply by touching it, which is sometimes easier said than done. The latter is probably the only drawback. Everything else works smoothly and 3D graphics is perfect, especially because this is Unity. When you want to open the door, just touch it and go back to pull it, or push the door open by going forward.
Ok, what's the story?
The base idea of the game is that the main character is in a condition of clinical death. Dark hallways you navigate are really representing the state of his mind. Randomly placed object, which give or take energy are things he had encountered earlier in life. Some were good, others not so much. When you come across the door with bright light coming through, you have found the exit.
About the author
Bartosz Moeglich aka Nirvan is Polish indie developer. This is an early - alpha version of Catharsis, which means that it needs some additional work and debuging.

Is it just me or does it give you a headache but you wanna keep playing it?! Its so scary :D I escaped the things when they burst down the door but the door I was about to open burst open too and killed me :D

Good game! Took me awhile to beat but the controls are a little off. Anyway, Good game keep up the great work!

Yeah, if they just fine-tuned the controls a bit more, this would be a phenomenal game. It introduces a really unique visual experience.
