Hide And Seek

Run and hide from a maniac pursuing you. Collect childhood memories and bring them back to the daemon who will then kill the maniac for you. Terrifying survival horror game made in Unity 3d technology.

Gameplay

The game begins in such a way that you find a man kneeling in the middle of the room saying 'There is only one person I have to kill'. It is all too clear that that person is you. Against an armed maniac you stand no chance whatsoever, and that is why you make a pact with the devil. At the end of the hallway you meet a man with a goats head who is offering you a deal: 'if you bring him 10 most precious objects from your childhood, he will kill the psychopath for you'. Obviously the whole drama is taking place in your house, so you can use familiar hiding places if you hear the killer coming your way. Weather because of the pact with the devil or for some other reason, but after you collect the items you will be quite often having hallucinations covered in dense black smoke. All you have to do to make these hallucinations go away is to click your mouse, blink and that's it. Collect all the items and you'll live. If the killer finds you before that, you'll die. Death brings you back into an empty room and you start the whole adventure from the beginning.

About the Game

Game was made by Feili Chen for the online competition '7DFPS' where he presented himself under the 'Brume Studio' name. 7dfps is an online competition where you have only 7 days to make first person shooter (+7 days of preparations). The result of it was this interesting 3d point and click adventure with elements of SlenderMan survival horror. How this game found itself in the shooter competition, is not all the way clear, since the main hero goes around bare handed, running and hiding from a maniac. But today, that is not important anymore. The game obviously made great success, and was fantastically accepted by the gaming audience and we even have hundreds of youtube video comments and tutorials to support that claim (for example Markiplier's video you can see here).

Survival Horror

This game is a typical example for survival horror. By definition in survival horror games, main hero is in a position where he has no weapons or he is weakened in some way or at least more vulnerable than in classic action games. Additional element in survival horror is that the hero must solve some kind of a puzzle, collect certain objects, unlock certain locations. And the last thing is that player must navigate through dark hallways and rooms around the map which is usually as complex as an average labyrinth. The term was used for the first time in Japanese game Resident Evil 1996 (an original name: Bio Hazard).
