The Cold Grip is an rpg survival horror game where you play as a lonely guy living in a shed in the wildness. From the beginning you've been promoted with some basic rules which you must follow in order to survive, especially during dark nights. Some of these rules are: keep the place lit, keep it warm, make sure to provide food, water and wood. Keep away from the animals. When you feel tired, you should rest to save the strength and prepare for whatever is coming.
The gameplay
The story is basically a typical post-apocalyptic about some dark infection taking over the world. At first you were just one of lucky survivors who managed to escape the city and reach some distant rural area. But, after a while, "the infected" have located you and since than all of your friends and family have been killed or died. At the moment you are believed to be the only survivor in the area, hopefully not on the entire world. Your mission is to stay alive as long as possible and look for some answers about what had happened.
Game controls
Controls to use are arrow keys to move around and 'Z' to confirm/select certain activity. For instance, if you go near the bed and press 'Z' you will be offered to go to sleep by giving some simple yes/no answer. You use arrow keys to select the answer and than you press 'Z' key again to confirm. I wish it could be that simple that you just go to bed ans sleep over the night. Unfortunately the darkness will find you and you'll start hearing some creepy baby noises. I think you could use 'space' bar to skip over long instruction screen. To get into inventory use 'X'; Yo can even run if you combine arrow keys with the 'Z'.
The 'infection' works interestingly, because once it gets you, Sam literally explodes into pieces. One of the certain signs that you've been in trouble is hearing strange voices echoing in the corridor or in front of the house.
How to play
Don't go to sleep. Get out on snow and search for an axe to chop some wood for fire. There's going to be a lot of clueless walking around. Just make sure to stay away from the darkness, the danger is in the dark. If it covers you, you're dead. Things you collect such as wood or meat or berries for food are stored in the inventory. The inventory has a limited capacity so you can't just chop off the entire forest and carry it with you.

This is a game I HAD to comment on. It is amazing! Did anyone else notice that painting? Lol. But seriously, I love this game. I like its design, controls and graphics. Keep up the good work!

This game is really awesome so far! Sadly, it runs a little slow on my current laptop, and it froze on me after I talked to some dude in a cloak, but I do plan on playing this again later. It's got great atmosphere and sound effects. XD

I just wanted to comment but right at this point, Marcelino added a new very disturbing gif. Pretty interesting. So i thought that someone should modify the game a bit cause there is only one more version which is 1.3 and it has only a few bug fixes. I think dark or anyone should reload the game here and add a way to refill the lantern.

Now i know i mostly rate 5 but i am not very critical. I just like playing games and see how they evolve, from example from impossible game we got to geometry dash. From 3D horizontal we got to 3D horizontal AND vertical. This one is cool and i will probably play it when i'm bored.★★★★★
