1916 Der Unbekannte Krieg

Unbekannte gives you a unique first person claustrophobic experience of the wounded soldier during WWI.

'Unbekannte' could be translated as 'unknown'. That is why the official translation of the game's title from German to English is "The war you never knew". Because the World War I took almost 40 million lives it's great you never had to 'know it'. The war was brutal, not only because almost half of the causalities were civilians, but because of the front line battles where all means of destruction had been allowed at the time. Krieg means war.

It is the year of 1916, place is the front line in the middle of First World War. You are the last living German soldier, trapped inside the maze of trench tunnels. While bombs and grenades are still falling around, you are desperately searching for the exit, the ladders that could take you out of the trench to the surface.

When people today say war, they think of casualties, the numbers. But it's hard to understand and to realize all the horror which takes place. Broken bones, ripped off limbs, whole towns burned down to ashes. The smell of burning flesh.

Unbekannte Krieg is the first person avoider, 3D Unity game. At some point, soldier realizes there's a new threat in the trench. A dinosaur. If you think that it doesn't make any scene, you're right, it doesn't. A dinosaur is just a hallucination caused by inhaling deadly and poisonous gas. As a matter of fact, you can use 'g' button as a protection - to put a gas mask on. The only weird thing is that this 'dinosaur' can hurt you, and eventually it will kill you, unless you find that way out first.

Controls

• W , A, S , D , or arrows and Mouse to move
• 'E' key to interact with objects. For instance you should press and hold 'e' key to break dead soldier's body apart and use his body parts as bait when you stumble upon dinosaur
• G - use gas mask
• Shift - Run
