Plus, what's in the distance, can appear blurred, so you're never exactly sure of what it is in front of you.
Throughout the game you're followed by very tall monster that seeks to back you into the dead end, from which there's no escape. 'The Following' uses the same tactics of luring the player into a false sense of security with it's claustrophobic halls and dark atmosphere.
The plot of the game is to steal 8 chairs, before Layla catches you, but unfortunately once it does catch you there really isn't much you can do to escape.
The Following is a very creepy game that is sure to leave your hair standing on end.
Maybe it's not something, but it's dark, it's horror, and it's indie, which I prefer much more than plain 1st person zombie shooters.
Regarding the gameplay, it's kind of a cool concept running away from the monster but it's not exactly clear where are you going and the monster does not feel exactly that threatening. As for me, a concept of the game that includes going around dark places, collecting 8 pieces of something, that all irresistibly reminds of Slenderman. The game is pretty much experimental, and that is supported by the fact that developer put that funny story about million dollar chairs to readme file.
I never managed to get more than 3 chairs and eventually I dropped it. Controls are typical for earlier unity games, not perfect but they get the job done, maybe a bit slower that I would expect, and there's no running. The worse part is the fact that you spend most of the time not knowing where you are and where are you going, covered in just a dark and nothingness with blurry shadows.
GoldwingsWorld : lol, i had to wipe my keyboard when i was done.>_>
xAtomic_Alienx : For some reason I can't download it.I have to open it with certain options, but most are windows player, internet explorer, adobe, and it doesn't work on anything. :/ It sounds so good, and not just because I just saw that Markiplier played it. (Didn't watch it first)
serialzero : Oof. I don't know which creature is creepier. This one, or the one from Continuously. >_>
scary_kid : lol, I love this Markiplier's video :D I'm going to download this game right now :)
